Feel like the royalty on board the Palace on Wheels - a completely self-sufficient train. This completely packaged trip makes the tourist visit Rajasthan in a completely regal fashion befitting the style only of Maharajas. Rated among the ten best train journeys of the world, the fully air-conditioned and vestibule train has saloons designed on the themes of different provinces of Rajasthan, with two beautiful restaurants, a library and bar.

While lunches are provided in famed hotels & sightseeing by luxury coaches, guided services, entry fee to monuments, parks, entertainment and cultural programs; the dinner and night stay are given in palatial rooms on board. The exquisite & exclusive Palace on Wheels comprises of 14 deluxe saloons, equipped with class amenities to enhance the pleasure of traveling. Each saloon is a combination of 4 twin - bedded chambers with channel music, intercom, attached toilets, running hot & cold water, shower and wall to wall carpeting… in fact everything that could comprise of heaven on earth for a whole week.

The coaches are named after the erstwhile princely states: Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Dhaulpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Kota, Sirohi and Udaipur.

The lounge car recaptures the royal style, pomp & pageantry, the quality of the era gone by. The two dining cars - the Maharaja and the Maharani have a traditional Rajasthani ambience - serving Continental, Indian and Rajasthani cuisine.

The weeklong train journey starts from Delhi and ends at Delhi. Cities covered in the journey are Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra.
 
The History of the Palace On Wheels
The Palace on wheels was constructed for the erstwhile Indian royalty. This heritage train of Rajasthan comprised of personal coaches of the former rulers of the princely states of Gujarat and Rajputana, the Viceroy of British India and the Nizam of Hyderabad.
 
After independence, the palaceonwheels- the luxury train of India was abandoned and it was not until the early 1980s that the train was reconsidered. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and the Indian Railways decided to introduce it as a special heritage tourist train to Rajasthan. Since then, the train has entertained people from all over the world.
 
Palace On Wheels
The Palace On Wheels is the only regularly operating Luxury Train in India, at present this heritage train of Rajasthan comprises 14 well appointed inter-connected passenger coaches, which have been named after Kota, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Alwar, Sirohi, Kishangarh, Bundi, Dungarpur, Bharatpur, Jhalawar and Dholpur. Besides, there are two Dining Cars in this luxurious train, with fresh food being cooked in onboard kitchen; One bar-cum-lounge car & four service cars. This luxury train also has a small library, mini-gym & beauty parlour. This luxury train, Palaceonwheels is fully airconditioned.
Cabins of Palace On Wheels
There are 52 standard A/C cabins with twin beds in Palace on Wheels. Each cabin is decorated in a theme of colors that represents the former Rajput states. Each of the cabins in this luxury train has an attached bath and a shower with running hot and cold water. The cabins are cozy, comfortable and equipped with all the modern amenities available. The décor is luxurious and the ambience quaint.
Dining Cars of Palace On Wheels
There are two dining cars that have been tastefully decorated in the authentic Rajasthani style in this heritage train of Rajasthan. The Maharaja and Maharani restaurants have seating arrangement in groups of twos and fours near the windows. Continental and Indian cuisine are prepared by the master chef. Mouth-watering Rajasthani specialities are also served. The finger-licking food, together with the excellent hospitality, yields a perfect meal. Travelling by Palace on wheels is a delight that would surely fascinate you.
The Bar of Palace on Wheels
The Bar-cum-Lounge in Palace on Wheels, is furnished with period furniture to create the royal ambience. It is spacious and beautifully decorated. The bar is stocked with a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You can select from the finest collection of spirits and wines. From scotch to cocktails, Palaceonwheels serves them all.

  • Indian national can pay in equivalent rupee amount.
  • Tour cost includes : travel, all meals, escorted site seeing tours with entrance fee.
  • Extra tariff for liqour, laundry, video camera entrance fee (where applicable), gratuity & all    other items of personal nature.
  • Children between 5 to 12 years are to be charged 50% of the adult fare.
  • Children below 5 years are complimentry without bed.
  • The tour can also be booked for minimum of 4 days.

Booking Procedure
Booking will be confirmed on receipt of advance deposit only.
  1. We require 20% advance deposit to hold the booking.
  2. Balance 80% must reach us 30 days prior to tour departure date.
Mode of Payment
Payments can be made through Swift money transfer.
Cancellation Rules & Charges
Bookings will be cancelled only on receipt of written requests.
Cancellation Charges will be
  1. 5% of ticket value charge, if booking cancelled 60 days prior to departure.
  2. 20% of ticket value charge, if booking cancelled 30 days prior to departure.
  3. 50% of ticket value charge, if booking cancelled 15 days before departure.
  4. 100% of ticket value charge, if booking cancelled less than 15 days before departure.
